Habenaria rhodocheila 'Cardinal's Roost'

This is the clone that has won many cultural awards. Beautiful flat pink flowers of true beauty. This is a terrestrial orchid and needs copious amounts of water while growing and flowering. Once the leaves start to die back, basically water monthly to avoid desiccating the tubers. Tubers can multiply annually. A good beginner orchid for introduction into the terrestrial orchid growing world.

Cycnodes Wine Delight 'JEM' FCC/AOS

Smells Good! Very fragrant waxy burgundy blossoms glow when the light hits them. Easy to grow orchid genus. Very good beginner plant. Keep slightly moist while new growths are emerging and when in bloom. Give a winter rest of very little to no water. Once new growths emerge and form roots, begin your watering and fertilizing. Can become a beautiful specimen plant within a couple of years. Very nice. Recommended. 4 inch pot. Hybrid is (Cycnoches lehmannii x Mormodes sinuata)

Dendrochilum cobbianum "Ken Karb'

Although native to the Philippines, this orhcid species seems to have some flexibility with temperatures. Grows well for us with night time temperatures near 50. Keep slightly moist and give good light levels. Considered to be one of the showiest species in the genus. The greenish colored flowers with yellow-orange lips are highly fragrant. Blooms in the Fall.

Sigmatostalix radicans

Native to Brazil and a close allied species to Oncidium, this miniature is very easy to grow. Medium light levels and daily moisture make for good culture. These bloom size divisions are of generous size. I do not have a photo of this delightful species but will try to get one as soon as possible. I have had trouble getting a close up shot with my camera. Always turns out blurry. Flowers are green/white with yellow centers and extremely attractive. Prolific bloomers. Offered as Orchids on wood/mounts $20.00 each. Very rewarding miniature species orchid. This orchid is also known as Ornithophora radicans.

Dendrobium Nestor

Primary hybrid = (Den. parishii X anosmum) Pleasantly fragrant purple blooms, darker purple centrally. Canes hang pendently and bloom March-April. Large plants are potted in clay pots. Give good light levels for best blooming. Does not seem to require a chill. Blooms in greenhouse that does not go below 60 degrees.

Calanthe vestita var Rubro oculata

Very attractive orchid species. Easy to grow and bloom. Showy flowers are bright white with raspberry red central highlights. Hot to cool growing, terrestrial or occasional lithophytic orchid found in Myanamar, Vietnam, Lower Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo and Sulawesi in forests on limestone in hill forests at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters. This terrestrial species needs a dry winter rest as the leaves yellow and fall off and then, after the plant has bloomed, repot and wait for the new growth to appear to resume watering.

Dendrobium jenkinsii

Like a miniature version of Dendrobium aggregatum. Plant growth habit is the same and flowers are virtually the same. Everything is just miniaturized. Like aggregatum, this plant needs a drying rest during our winter months. Prefers intermediate temperatures. Mounted plants are bloom size.

Bulbophyllum (Cirr.)Doris Dukes 'Summerfield' (Bulbophyllum fascinator x Bulbophyllum rothschildianum)

Outstanding cultivar of this primary hybrid. Beautiful flowers that show much of the rothschildianum influence. Vigorous growers that love constant moisture and Catleya light levels. Mounted orchids on cork bark. Good size plants are bloom size and produce brightly colored tangerine blossoms. Grow bright. Native to Vietnam, Laos, Burma and Thailand and grows in lowland situations. Grow warm. Needs a period of decreased fertilizer and water during winter for Spring blooming.

Dendrobium sulcatum

The furrowed lip Dendrobium. Easy to grow and flower. Golden-yellow flowers hang from the tips of growths. Very beautiful and exotic. Minimum night time temperatures 60 degrees. It is found in Assam, eastern Himalayas, Myanamar, Thailand, Laos and south central China in tropical valleys at altitudes of 500 to 1000 meters. Flat cane growth. Very interesting and fun. Planted in wooden baskets.

Wonderful unique species. Orchid growths are upright with chubby leaves. Flowers are granny smith apple green, lip is white with several reddish colored lines going the length of the lip. Grow warm and bright for best flowering.

Masd Magic Wand=(Masdevallia imposter X floribunda)

Prolific warm growing Masdevallias. Flowers stems are sequential, so do not remove your stems until they start to brown. One flower normally follows the next on this neat hybrid. Full size plants remain less than 6 inches tall. Orchid flowers are large for plant size and are colored mahogany and gold. Unregistered hybrid. Bloom Size. Many with flower stems now. The coconut fragrance orchid (Maxillaria tenuifolia) crossed to the fruity smelling orchid (Maxillaria sanguinea). The Comet Orchid. Grow warm and shady. Sometimes called Darwin's Orchid. This Angraecum produces the largest flowers of the genus. Wax substance flowers are very long lasting and highly fragrant at night.

Angraecum eburneum ssp superbum

Beautiful sprays of green and white flowers with long nectarys. Night time fragrant. This is a subspecies of Angraecum superbum. Native to east Madagascar, eastern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. Angraecum eburneum prefers to be grown warm and bright. Bloom size! These plants are very nice.

Oeoniella polystachya

A new charming small growing Angraecoid. A native of Madagascar, it will grow happily either on a mount or in a small pot or basket, under intermediate to warm conditions. A well grown plant will produce multiple spikes of very fragrant flowers. Like all angraecoids, it needs good drainage and ventilation, but should not be dried out excessively. Oeoniella polystachya is a very night time fragrant orchid.

Angraecum didieri

Native to Madagascar, Ang. didieri produces extremely large flowers for the size of the plant. Grow relatively shady and moist. One of my favorite in the genus. Nice plants. Named for Alfred Grandidier who first collected it. Epiphyte in forests; 600-1500 m; flowering in June -August. Fragrant. Considered a miniature. Offered in pots or as an orchids on mounts.

Miniature Cymbidium -- Cymbidium Chen's Ruby 'Gold Tiger' = (Golden Elf x iridifolium)

These are very attractive miniature growing Cymbidiums. Most are forming spikes now! Flowers are golden yellow with cinnamon colored stripes. Dramatic lips are white with cinnamon markings.
