All of our offerings are established orchids with roots attached to the mounts. We hold all of our orchids in our greenhouses until the roots grow onto whatever mounting media they are tied. Once they are attached, they are put on this page for sale. Not a day sooner. Our orchids on mounts selections may be tied to cork bark, hickory bark, or grapevine. We only use materials that are sturdy and long lasting.

 

 

Cattleya walkeriana var alba.

Bloom size in 3 1/2 inch clay pots. Allow to dry between summer waterings and give a cool rest time in the winter months with a sparse watering schedule during the cooler months. Beautiful blooms and beautiful fragrance. Very recommended orchid species. Orchids on wood. Mounted orchids.

Dendrobium lancifolium- The sword leaved Dendrobium. Native to Maluku and Sulawesi, this orchid species can flower several times during the year. Relatively long lasting flowers are bright pink and white. Plants favor a shrub with many think leaved growths. Grow bright. Orchids on cork mounts. Wonderful and recommended. Large sized plants mounted on cork. $40.00

 

Sigmatostalix radicans-aka Ornithophora radicans.

Cute miniature that is very easy to grow. Water daily for best culture. Tied onto cork bark, these divisions are generous. No photo presently. Limited and will go quickly.

Encyclia polybulbon AKA Epidendrum polybulbon

Great growers. Butterscotch colored flowers with bright white lips. Lips are marked with a little red coloration. Very limited. Again, generous size plants that are bloom size. $25.00 Dwarf creeping growth habit. Plants are native to Central America from Mexico to Honduras, also in Cuba and Jamaica. Bloom season January.

 

Lc. Love Knot - One of Linda's creations using (C. walkeriana 'Pendentive' X L.sincorana 'Jose Rodriquez' ) as parents in this primary orchid hybrid. Blooms have been larger than expected with nice form and shape. These mounted orchids are bloom size Photo is one of actual orchids that is for sale. $35.00

Ency tampanese var alba 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS CCE/AOS Granny Smith Apple-Green flowers with white lips seem to float in the air when in bloom. Easy to grow as a mounted orchid plant. Give plenty of good morning light for the best bloomings. Bloom Size $20.00 Photo shows normal color variety. Use photo for flower shape and to show foliage. The albino form of this orchid is bright green and white.

 

Dendrobium jenkinsii Like a miniature version of Dendrobium aggregatum. Plant growth habit is the same and flowers are virtually the same. Everything is just miniaturized. Like aggregatum, this plant needs a drying rest during our winter months. Prefers intermediate temperatures. Dendrobium jenkinsii, Orchids on Wood/Mounts are bloom size $25.00

 

Dendrobium aggregatum aka (lindleyi) Small plant from India, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and China. Psuedobulbs are ribbed and lie flat on the mounts. Wiry flower stems carry many golden flowers with lips being darker towards their base. Needs a winter rest with cooler temperatures to ensure nice flowerings. We recommend a temperature no lower than 50 degrees. $30.00

 

Cat jenmanii var coerulea X B. nodosa An interesting hybrid to say the least. Both Cat. jenmanii and B. nodosa can bloom at a very small size. Brassavola nodosa imparts vigor and ease of blooms. Be the first one to flower this exciting hybrid. Maybe we will get some blue orchids (coerulean forms) Near Bloom Size, Mounted Orchids $20.00

 

Sedirea japonica

Orchids on wood. Mounted orchid plants are the progeny of our awarded Sederia japonica. Very pleasantly fragrant blossoms are light green and magenta. Grow relatively shady, but warm. Orchids on Wood/Sticks-Bloom Size $20.00

 

 

Laelia lundii Bloom size and ready to flower this Spring. Flowers are white, lip is marked in magenta and the interior is canary yellow. A true miniature species. Very easy to grow and flower. Can take temperatures down to 45 degrees. Sold as mounted orchids only. These are not orchid trinkets. These are nice sized plants with many creeping growths on generous sized cork mounts. Dendrobium unicum Bright orange flowers are borne up and down the leafless Dendrobium canes. Unusual lip is yellow orange with red veining. Native to Thailand, Burma, and Laos, this Dendrobium orchid is a miniature that can grow to specimen size with hundreds of flowers. Grow with minimum night temps in 60's. Mounted orchids are bloom size $25.00

 

Angraecum didieri A lucky addition to any collection for Ang. didieri is seldom seen or offered. Native to Madagascar, Ang. didieri produces extremely large flowers for the size of the plant. Grow relatively shady and moist. One of my favorite in the genus. Nice plants. Named for Alfred Grandidier who first collected it. Epiphyte in forests; 600-1500 m; flowering in June -August. Fragrant. Considered a miniature. Offered as orchids on mounts. Fragrant. Orchids on mounts are mature and bloom size $30.00

 

Brassavola Little Stars $25.00 Plants are established and have been growing on these mounts for years. Very nice orchids on sticks.

Broughtonia nigrilensis A beautiful Broughtonia. Trumpet lips are lightly ruffled at edges. Soft pink flowers with intense pink inside lip. Orchids growing on mounts. $25.00

 

Brassavola cordata $25.00 Flowers are very much like the photo above except that the lips on Brassavola cordata are more pronounced with the heart shape. Easy to grow these orchids on mounts are secured to cork bark.

 

Soph cernua The warm growing Sophronitis. Just reclassified as Cattleya. Flowers are bright orange and held in clusters. One of my favorite orchid species. Easy in the North Carolina heat. Small mounted orchids are bloom size 15.00

 

Leptotes bicolor These orchids are being offered only on mounts. Fragrant white flowers with delicate pink lips. Grow with medium light conditions and water often. Bloom size and bloom every Feb-March-April, Spring. Choice parents were used in these hybrids. Two of John Dunkleburger's finest. One parent was awarded for extra large size and form and the other parent was awarded for many blooms of fine form. Sure to be some very nice quality progeny. Baptistonia echinata The bumble bee orchid. Pendant flower stems bear many adorable blossoms. Plants are established on cork and bloom size. Very few were mounted. Limited. Bloom Size $25.00

Brassavola nodosa. These mounted divisions are from my show plant. The flowers are very nicely shaped and the plant is a solid grower with much vigor. Easy to grow and very reliable bloomer. One of my favorite plants. Mature, established and bloom size $30.00

Phal schilleriana A pioneer in the Phalaenopsis genus. Unique mottled foliage is one added feature of the amazing species Phal schilleriana. Found literally in the background of every standard size flowered pink Phalaenopsis. Flowers can be fragrant and make a very showy display. Displays will increase as orchid plants mature in years. Mounted on generous sized cork mounts. Individual leaves are already near 5 inches in length. Very nice addition to your orchid collection. Phalaenopsis schilleriana likes shade and constant moisture throughout the year. Bloom Size $25.00

 

Oerstedella centradenia Flowers are a very pretty shade of pink with fairy dust sprinkles over the flower segments. Native to Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in wet lower montane evergreen to semi-deciduous forests from elevations of 1200 to 1500 meters. Plants can be found growing in brightly lit areas to partially shaded situations. Plants are relatively small growing. Requires more water when actively growing and a definite winter rest. Grows here in our cool greenhouse which goes down to 50 degrees all winter. Generally flowers in January-March. Very sweetly scented and very cute. Bloom Size $20.00

 

Zelenkoa onusta, renamed from Oncidium onustum. I personally love everything about this orchid species. This very popular orchid has a petite growth habit and ease of flowering. The color of the flowers is best described by me as chrome yellow. Multiple growth plants can quickly cover your mounting material. Native to Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, these orchids benefit from a dry rest period in the winter. Bloom time is Summer to Fall. Psuedobulbs are grooved and speckled with tiny purple spots. Bloom Size $25.00

 

Onc. Memoria Harold Starkey

Wonderful growing palnts produce tall stems of floating dancing ladies. Flowers are large. Mounted and estabished. Nice size plants are bloom size and ready to bloom in October. $30.00 Orchids on bark/cork.

 

 

Onc Little Angel =(Zelenkoa onusta x Oncidium flexuosum) Looks like Zelenkoa on steroids. Very nice plants have an upright creeping growth habit and are perfectly suited for mounted culture. Blooms are brilliant yellow and very long lasting. Mature plants are Bloom Size Limited $40.00

Nice mature bloom size clones of a very nice Cattleya hybrid (C bicolor X C Beaufort) These orchid plants love being mounted. The roots have rapidly responded to mounted culture. I do not have a photograph. $25.00
